Default Engine Fire!!

Yesterday my 1997 Sebring caught on fire while I was grocery shopping. Lt. from the Fire Dept. said it was an electrical fire. Do I have any recourse? I live on a limited income and cannot afford a new one. I loved my convertible!! It only had 97,000 miles.

what are u looking for? being that it is a 97 and over 12 years old unless u have full coverage there would be nothing that Chrysler would do for u. If there was a mass amount of fires such as yours then yes I have never seen one from a 97.

Call your insurance company. If you loved the car as much as you say then of course you would have insured it.
That's what insurance is for.

Once a car is beyond it's warranty period the only recourse you have is your own insurance's comprehensive coverage. If you have that, seek recompense from them.

The Sebring does not have an abnormally high fire history, therefore it is not likely that there is anything that Chrysler is responsible for.

Another possibility is if you have had any work performed recently, there could be some responsibility on the part of the repair shop.

Otherwise you're stuck with the bill.

Sorry, no good news here.
