Default 98 Sebring, Cranks but woltn fire.

Hi, i have a 98 Sebring Lxi, It has 145k on the chassis body, with 80k on its second motor. It will crank over, and over but will not fire. I have tried to start it with starting fluid and it pops and kicks so i beleave its geting spark. When i turn the key to the on position the fuel pump kicks on for 2 seconds and cuts off however does not run when cranking the motor. I have checked the asd relay and im having the same prob, even with a new relay. At a loss i borrowed a obd2 scanner and my computer isnt kicking any codes, I heard that a dead computer will respond the same. What should i check next? im starting to think its happy honda days time, but id like to get this chrisler/mitsu running, even if just to sell it.

Any help will be greatly apriceated, Thanks

dont think u have spark go make sure 100% as for the asd and fuel pump they are working correctly they dont need to be on unless the engine is running so they do shut off after 2 seconds.

So, lets say im not geting spark. I would begin to suspect the crank position sensor, right? Is that inside the distributor or under the distributor closer to the bellhousing?

Thanks for the quick help.

That's where I had to go... relatively inexpensive too.

(UNDER the distributor, #10 bolt and slides in right-to-left into the bellhousing)
