I just purchased a 2001 Sebring LXI convertible... It has about 40,000 miles on it... I have a couple of ?'s... The fan blower doesn't work on 1,2, or 3 but works on #4.... What could that be... Also how do I go about finding out if Chyrsler has any recalls on this car.... Thanks...Any help would be appreciated....

The problem with the blower motor is a blower motor resistor located on the bottom of the heater box. As for the recalls, you need to contact you local chrysler dealer and they can look it up with the last 9 digits of your VIN.

If you go to http://www.chrysler.com/owners/index.html, you can put the last 8 digits in and it'll give you recall info.

I have an 01 Sebring Sedan with the same problem (actually have a friend w/an 01 convertable that also has the problem). Is the blower motor resistor something that is easily replaced or is this something that would warrant a trip to the dealer/mechanic?

Does anyone have an idea of what this repair would cost, either by mechanic/dealer or by self? Also, is it a repair job that could be done over a weekend?

My 2000 Sebring LXI also just had the blower go out. Does anyone have an approximate cost on this repair at the dealer? I planned on doing it myself, but apparently they changed the part and you have to modify the stock housing to replace it so I don't feel like risking that.

The repair is easy if you have the mitsubishi setup. That setup is the blower motor on the pass side with the blower that comes out of the bottom. Four bolts and a connector. I believe it cost around 50dollars new.
