Default Insturment Cluster Lights: "Check Engine" light does not work

My 2006 Chrysler Sebring convertible Limited, 85,000 miles, 2.7 V8 gas, could not be smogged because the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT is not working. When the ignition is turned on and all lights are briefly displayed, the CEL is the only one that does not display.

It must have worked a couple years ago, when I last had the car smogged.

How do I repair or replace the CEL?

It may have just burnt out the bulb in that spot. Not sure of the steps involved on your car to remove the instrument cluster to get to the back and check the bulb. From what I gather from your post, the car drives fine, an electrical problem in the harness or computer would be giving you some type of drivability symptoms. Good Luck
