Default Intermittent Dash Light issue

Well hi, i am new to your forum and am in need of your wisdom/guidance

My sister owns an 07 sebring (limited with the 3.5 if that helps)

She has recently had an intermittent issue with her dash lights not coming on when the headlight switch is toggled, the other lights in the car like the radio, and HVAC controls do so it is not the switch, but the next day it is fine, a week later it happens again. i am a tech for a chevy dealer so i can do any work on the car but i dont want to start tearing it apart and not know what im looking for.

Thanks
Dean

Is it JUST the cluster lights that are doing it?

yes it is only the cluster backlight, the gauges, warning lights, and info center continue to function normally.

well i know its been a while but my sister has just been putting up with it not working once a week, but this past week it has not worked once. so i removed it (a very simple one to remove by the way) and looked at how the cluster is lit, it uses a ribbon connector that i didnt feel was tight enough so i tightened it up by layering some paper behind it and recalmped it down and tada she works, hopefully it will last but now i know what it is atleast

Default Chrysler Sebring instrument cluster lighting not working

I had the same issue with my car and the problem was a bad inverter. I found a video on youtube done by vehix411.com. This might be helpfull. Here is the video.
