Default Lateral Links?

I took my 05 Sebring sedan in for tires and alignment today, the mechanic called me back about an hour later and told me "Not sure why this model doesn't have them from the factory, but you need lateral links, your cambers off half a degree and that's the only way to adjust it." Any truth to this or is he trying to sell me $400 worth of parts/labor? Google tells me it is a real part but it seems like it's not a very common one.
