They are different from the old ones. The old ones were domes that you hit in the middle to expand against the hole. These are cup shaped.

Actually there the same shape as the majority of block freeze plugs from the 60's and 70's. Cup shaped. Like I say, never tap on the edge. There is always that temptation if the plug is not quite flush.

If there is a recall due to defective plugs and the "fix" is still honored that would be an incredible break! Best of luck on that.

Actually, its a 2000
But, We also checked out the back freeze plugs, and one is starting to rust pretty bad on the bottom, so were just gonna have them all changed.

me and my dad are great at working on cars, but were gonna let someone else take care of this job.
Thanks a bunch for the help guys, I really like this site, and will defiantly come back often!
