I just bought the wife 2008 convertible, I went to put the roof down, the roof itself when down but trunk stayed up and now it won't do anything, if I hit the down button it makes a noise but doesn't do anything? any help

 

I would suggest posting on sebringclub<dot>net. The site deals exclusively in sebring/200 convertibles. You will find more information and knowledge there regarding these convertible tops than at most any dealer.

One area that is known to cause problems is the wiring harness by the right hinge. There is a tendency for some wires to break from the movement when operating the top.

When you push the down button what kind of noise do you hear? Where does it seem to be coming from? Is it a grinding noise or a clicking noise? Does it come from behind you or does it come from the down button?
