01 Sebring Sedan, 2.7l, atx

Started the car this morning w/ remote starter (after market Viper).
Car ran for about 3 minutes then stopped running.... all other electronics
were still on.. radio / instrument cluster etc.

Tried starting with the key... nothing... just the ding, ding, ding...

Scratched my head for a few, then opened the rear door and the horn and lights start flashing...

Tried using the remote fob to shut it down, nothing.. tried restarting again with fob, then with key... nothing...

Disconnected battery to stop the blaring noise. Waited a few minutes and reconnected... horn and lights start flashing again...

Disconnect battery for 1/2 hour. Re-connect battery...

Now I get the ding, ding, ding... but it won't start, and the red anti-theft light does not flash.

Any pointers would be apprectiated...

 

In order for the remote start to work, the installer had to do something to bypass the factory alarm system. The car won't start without the sentry key otherwise. I would be willing to bet that whatever he did is at the bottom of your problem. Get back with that guy and ask him how he bypassed the sentry key immobilizer system and how HE plans on making your car work again.

 

Don't know why, but the fuse for the ignition switch/fuel pump blew.

Replaced that and we're back to normal.
