Default Questions Questions 96 Sebring JX

I want to replace a few items on this car. I will hit the junk yards ... they may not have a Sebring with a 2.5l so the question is, what other models and model years came with the identical 2.5l ?

Well for instance, the gas tank straps are quite rusty .. Radiator still has the Chrysler emblem and could use some help. Hoses coming off the radiator are pretty rusty. Lines running from the engine to the rear ... brake lines I believe are rusty ...

Oh yeah ... if cheap enough .. the rear suspension has some rusty parts. May just be cheaper to drop the entire rear suspension from a junk yard, clean it up paint it and intall as one unit.

All the first items you mentioned would be better off purchased new. Are you sure your vehicle is not ready to be put to pasture? Not being mean.

How rusty is "rusty"? Surface rust is okay, scaly crumbly rust is not good. Rear suspension components are pretty hardy on most vehicles unless they are worn thin.

I would suggest buying new parts especially if the cost don't differ much from the junk yard's. Aside from economy, you can ensure lasting performance from chrysler parts.
