Default random miss fire

i have a 2002 3.0 sebring lxi,a couple of weeks ago I had an oil leak which was the head gasket and the shop I went to had a problem of getting the car to start after the fixed the leak, they ended up changing everything in he engine, hoses, sensors, belts, plugs wires I mean everything and I only had to pay for the head gasket fix,but when they finally got it working it idles fine and when you rev up the engine everything is good and hen they test drove it around the lot it was good, but when I took it home and was on the interstate it was fine until I got off and stoped the engine light comes on and I cant get the car movinf,it studders and shakes and I ant get any speed going and when I managed to bring it back it reads of a random miss fire and everything has been checked over a few time, does anyone have an idea of hats going on,the shop thinks it might be the computer saying it either has to be flashed or replaced, what do you guy think...thanks

The usual problem with that engine is the distributor. Since you seem to have tried every other possible thing other than the computer, it's probably time to go after the distributor.

I don't know a lot about cars but wouldn't that cause a problem when I would start the car because when it sits in park and is just idle it's fine,it's when you give it has that starts the problem

A weak spark will not be able to ignite a heavy gas load. Your description of symptoms sounds just like what used to happen to my old T-Bird when the points needed replacement. It would run okay until I put my foot into it, then it would bog down and miss badly. Sounds like a spark problem. Where does the spark come from?
