Default 2005 Pacifica engine miss

I have a 2005 Pacifica AWD 3.5 with an intermittent engine miss in the #4 cylinder with the check engine light on steady. It is worse when holding a steady speed and seems worse when it's cold or damp outside. I have replaced the spark plugs and the coil on the #4 cylinder but it made no difference. Had a scanner put on it and it still shows engine miss in #4 cylinder. Any ideas on what to check next? Thanks for any help.

Fuel injector makes sense. As I said it comes and goes and happens mainly at a steady speed, not so much at idle or accelerating. Would a fuel problem still show up as a misfire code on scanner? Thanks

yes the scanner only reads sensors and relays the info to the pcm then the pcm lets it be shown on the scanner
