Sebring passenger side lighting issues
I drive a 2010 Sebring limited currently sitting at 140k. A year ago my passenger side turn signal began blinking dim and fast. After replacing front and rear bulbs the issue remained. Since the signal still “worked” I ignored it for a few months. Then about 4 months ago I noticed my horn was no longer working. After doing some googling I found both systems use the same ground (located above the left front tire) I gently cleaned up the ground with a wire brush and baking soda/water taping off the insulation as to not damage it. After hooking everything back up and testing I now have no passenger side high/low beam, no passenger side fog light, and my hood ajar warning is on along with the pre-existing problems. Im a pretty novice diyer and I'm not sure where to start. I'm guessing the issue is either; the ground needs fully replaced, or I tugged some wires loose when cleaning the ground. Im leaning more toward the latter, but I don’t want to tear apart the harness just yet. Any help or advice at this point would be great!
Other notes
-the hood ajar and foglight work after shaking the harness a bit
-Ive replaced the airbag clock spring, turn signal switch and swapped all bulbs and sockets on the headlight assembly with known working components
-from what I can see all faulty components seem to connect to the harness in the same spot, and share a ground

[QUOTE=bonnybank;125391]Did you ever resolve your issues? I drive the same car and recently developed the same symptoms: noticed the horn was gone several months ago, and now the passenger low and high beams and blinker are completely out.[/QUOTE
my sebring ended up getting totaled before I could fix it however i’m pretty confident about the cause. All the components I (and you) mentioned use the same ground. I only cleaned my ground and that’s why I think it didn’t fix the problem. my suggestion would be to strip back all the wires to clean copper and just remake the ground, you’ll have to drill a new bolt hole as the wires won’t be long enough but that won’t cause any issues. the ground itself will be located on the passenger inner fender in the engine bay. you’ll see all the faulty components have a wire leading to it. hopefully you should see some green corrosion on some of the wires. let me know if you have any other questions!
