Default Small 2 inch tear in a clothe convertible top repair

Hey I was wondering what the best thing to do about a 2in by 1/4in tear by the front windshield in a clothe convertible top would be. Patch it? Replace the whole thing? How much does a new top cost? Just the clothe material. Thank you.

Search the web for "convertible top repair". There's a ton of stuff out there: videos, web pages.

Here's a source for a replacement top, if you want to go that route. There are various options for materials, rear window configuration, etc.

Unless you have experience, you would be well advised to get a professional to install the replacement top. There's an art to it and you want to hire somebody who specializes in convertible tops and who does it all day, every day. Not a dealership or body shop that does it once or twice a year. A poorly installed top will look bad and perform worse.
