Default sometimes tach

1999 sebring Just bought 8000 mile jxi. Every thing worked as should on test drive. about 25 miles later on the trip home tachometer quit working and odometer went dark. The tach and odometer work sometimes mostly not. All other systems seem to work. Anybody have similar problem or can shed any light on this? Thanks

Might want to replace the input and output speed sensors on the transmission. If you can find replacement parts on the internet, it's an easy job. They used to be quite cheap. Cheaper than having a mechanic look at it and give you an estimate even.
