Speedometer sweeps after hot soak on engine
I have a 2004 Sebring Sedan 2.7 eng with 125K miles that the speedometer needle sweeps after a short engine hot soak on restart (hot soak 5 to 10 min after key off), and while the speedometer is sweeping the engine stumbles but up to this point has never died and has no other perforance issues other than a little rough idle, no codes in the PCM. I have had car since it was new, the water pump replaced at 76K miles by a Chrsyler dealerunder warranty. Has anybody seen this? Any fixes?
If I had to guess, I'd guess you've got a problem with your engine computer. It may have a cracked solder joint somewhere that's acting up as the circuit board expands from the heat. Replacements are available on the web for somewhere around $200 on an exchange basis.
But it's just a guess.
