Tight transmission install 2007 Sebring
I have the Haynes manual and have done my research before tackling a transmission swap on my 2007 Sebring 2.7. It was very tight to get the transmission out….basically I needed to hang the back of it on the subframe and rotate the transmission down and forward to get it out. Getting it back in has proven much more difficult. Doing the reverse of how I got it out doesn’t seem to work. The engine is supported by a jack underneath the oil pan. I’m using an engine hoist from above and a jack below to help maneuver the transmission. It either hangs up on the subframe, the bottom of the driver side frame rail or on the flex plate. I can’t believe how tight the working space is.
Anyone have any slick tricks on how they successfully installed their transmission on their 2007-11 Sebring 2.7?

Solved
I needed to remove the bolts from the bearing carrier on one side of the transfer case. Then I had a whole generous 1/8 of an inch of clearance. It is possible to get it back in with a lot of wiggling and adjusting the angle and orientation of the transmission.
