Timing Chain Has Too Much Play

Saw where timing chain was hitting everything and making a knocking noise replaced chain and tensioner and had the same slop with the chain when cranked by hand. Has anyone had this problem, is there somewhere else to tighten the chain?

need to know what kinda car this is and I wold suspect that U have a 2.7 engine.
