Default what to do...towing

I have a 2011 200 with 4 cyl. Here's my problem. My wife needs an electric cart to get around places other than just grocery store ,etc..like theme parks in particular. We have bought a small Jazzy model and with it came an electric lift for the cart. I installed the only available hitch for it(1 1/4 opening ) and had to get an adapter for the 2 inch lift. Tried a trial ride with yesterday it and this will just NOT work at all. Lift ends up maybe three inches from pavement so scrapes everything in sight. License plate has to be moved..of course have to wire the cart for power but that's not so hard.. With cart on there I'm sure it would drag 100% of the time. There are no air shocks..or they are just TOO expensive . Soooo do I just scratch this lift altogether and try to find a small utility trailer to tow cart? Trailer hitch did come with a ball hitch mount that curves upwards a few inches and a trailer would take the weight off the vehicle suspension unlike the lift(which is also a major pain to attach/remove) because the weight would pretty much be on the trailer wheels, Cart itself in 200 lbs or less. It MIGHT fit in the trunk but then it's still a pain to break apart and load.Any suggestions?? sorry if this should go in another section please move it..wasn't sure exactly where to put it...oh yeah..the cart and lift together were just $250 so no big loss if I just dump the lift...

Trying to support all that weight cantilevered out several feet from the rear of the car is a bad idea. The car was never intended to handle that kind of load. It's like trying to hold a 5 pound sledge out at arm's length vs holding it close to your body. There's a big difference.

Sounds like a small trailer would work much better. It'd be a lot easier to handle and disconnect when not needed. It'd be easier on you and easier on the car.

Something like this might work:

870 lb. Capacity 40 in. x 49 in. Utility Trailer

Add a plywood deck and either use ramps or just unhitch it, tip it and roll the cart off.

Thanks for response..that trailer seems ideal. I didn't like it that it the lift hung so far out from he body and the lift itself sorta sways back and forth even without the cart on it. Sure that would make for fun steering in a good wind. Plus with a trailer I can add a ramp to it on the back..just drive the cart up. I'd have to build some sides. Even with that much cheaper than any shocks that would raise the lift.

The only issue I see is parking it at a theme park...

You really don't need sides, just strap it down.

Theme parks always have lots of RV parking. Shouldn't be a problem.
