Default when to replace timing chain

I have a 2001 Chrysler Sebring conv with the 2.7 liter engine with 107,000 miles on it. I thought timing chains were more durable and didn't need to be replaced as often as timing belts. I think I have a timing chain. When should it be replaced? Thanks.
