Default Window goes up and down on it‘s own

Hi there,
I have a 2009 Sebring convertible (hardtop).
Two days ago I was getting out of the Chrysler and had the keys already in my hand when I saw my drivers window move 1/4 Inch up and down several times and really fast.
It seems like my door doesn‘t know if it‘s open or closed.
I already tried to get an error code with a diagnosis tool, but the Sebring didn‘t had an error saved.
I disconnected the battery as well for a few minutes but without success.

As soon as I open the door my window will go a little bit down (as it should) and after a few seconds it will go back up and down. Sometimes it will continue this procedure 10x and in some situations it will just go up with an open door.

Did one of you guys ever had such a problem?
It seems like my window doesn‘t recognize the position of the door (open / closed).

A few days ago I was caught in heavy rain while driving with the top down. I closed it as fast as I was able to stop - but I‘m not sure if water on my window switch on the drivers door could cause this - all other functions (Auto down and all windows) work just fine.

Thank you
Dom

"It seems like my window doesn‘t recognize the position of the door (open / closed)."

There's a switch built into the door latch that tells the computer whether the door is fully closed or not. That signal will cause the computer to turn on the interior lights, the "door ajar" warning light, switch off the radio and whatever else needs to happen when the door is opened, including dropping the glass. Start with the door latch and check whether it's operating properly and whether its switch is working as it should.

You'll need a very sophisticated code reader to be able to drill down that far into the workings of the computer. The ordinary run-of-the-mill parts store code reader will not be able to get close to that level in the computer.

There is a driver door control module that controls the smart window function. It is possible a diagnostic trouble code is stored in the DDCM but you will need a scanner that can access/read the DDCM. It is not likely the window switch. Other possibilities are the door latch which reports the door open/closed or the control module itself.

Shoot some lubricant into the door latch; I prefer a spray white lithium grease to get into the latch and leave a good grease film.

You can try a reset of the smartglass feature.

CLEAR/DENORMALIZE, RELEARN/NORMIALIZE WITHOUT A SCAN TOOL

With the ignition in the run position hold up/down the window switch for at least 30 seconds until the DTC is set for stuck switch. This will clear the memory of the calibration information. Proceed to relearn/normalize.

1. Put a battery charger on vehicle.

NOTE:

The convertible top must be completely closed and locked during this procedure.

NOTE:

Both doors need to be completely closed when starting this step.

2. Sit in the driver seat and close the door.

3. Move the driver window part way down.

4. Using the Power Top Switch, raise the window to full up position and continue to hold the top switch for additional two seconds.

5. Using the window switch, lower the driver window to the full down position and continue to hold the switch for additional two seconds.

6. Raise the window to the full up position.

7. Verify that the window drops approximately 1/4 inch when the door opens, and raises when door closes. If window does not drop or raise, repeat procedure starting at step 3.

You can disregard the portion about clearing the dtc's they won't hurt anything as they'll store and eventually delete themselves.
