Default Window Contacts ? ? ?

The other day, while the drivers side door was open, I saw a friend of my son's put a screw driver on what I assume are the door contacts for the window and make a "bridge" from one to the other. (two brass looking contacts on the inside of the door jamb close to the hinges, they do not push in but look like contacts- is that what they are?)
Didnt think too much about it, but then the next day I noticed that the window in that door no longer worked. It makes no noise whatsoever, just does not work. Could it be a fuse blown from that contact?
Is that just a coincidence, or related?
Any suggestions?

Thanks so much for any advice.

there is not a contact like that for the wondows its for the ajar switch circuits all the power for the windows and door locks are from the main harnes a the lower half of the door near the lower hinge.
Bridging thoes contacts will do nothing i think u just have a bad windows motor like most of the vans have.
U can do 2 things first open the door and have the dome lights on and watch the lights as u hit the windows switch watch them if they dim while u are holding the switch down u have a windows motor drawing to many amps. To correct this issue u will need a regulator and motor assembly but for the mean time u can hit the door panel with some force right below the pull handle what u use to close the door with and it will free up the motor for a short time.

Do you think that replacing that is something I should try myself? Or do you not even recomend it.
I did the "test" and it did show a little dimming of the dome light when I pushed the button down for the window.
I hit fairly hard on the door panel, but that did not do anything.
Where should I buy one? Aftermarket or OEM?
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
