Default Wiper park position

My driver's side wiper stops about 3-4" above the bottom of the windshield, is this normal?

From pictures I've looked at it looks like it should park just low enough that you can't see it from inside, but mine is out in the view area all the time.

Is there a way to adjust this? I tried removing the arm and rotating it one spline on the shaft, but that takes it too far down.

Thanks

Check for excessive slop in the linkage first. If there's too much slop, replace the worn parts.
The proper adjustment puts the lower tip of the blade between 0.75 and 1.60 inches above the cowl. If that is off, remove the arm, set it properly in place, and tighten the nut to 23 to 29 ft-lbs. Tightening the nut should pull the arm onto the splines in the correct place. If yours won't stay there, then replace the arm.

I should have mentioned this is a 2009, and it's been this way since new.

There is no slop in the linkage. I tried to rotate it to the proper position, but it's one tooth too far, either direction.

I was hoping there might be a fine adjustment somewhere.

There might be alignment "marks" on the windshield itself. Aligning them is easy. Just take off the cap at the bottom of the wiper, undo the bolt, and take off the wiper and replace at the right position.

Then again, this is just a general procedure. I'm not sure if it's like this for our Sebrings, it was like that for my 2005 Neon.
