2014 Chrysler 300C (5.7L V8 Hemi) Whistling Sound @ 92000 kms
Hello All,
I am new to the forum and I have looked for a similar thread, but couldn't find one related to my problem. I will take my car to the dealership but I wanted to consult you guys to make sure I approach the dealership with the most information possible.
I have added a link to a video I took:
I have maintained the car very well ever since I got it in 2015. I live in Toronto, ON and before I took this video it was approximately 5 degrees Celsius, I was driving around, so the engine was definitely not cold. I was updating my GPS and my Radio so I figured I'd open the hood and try to look for any issues I may be missing. So I heard this noise and I took a video. Would anyone be able to recognize what it would be?
Thanks,

My computer sound is no so good but are you sure the "whistling" sound you hear is not mechanical? From my computer it sounds like a bearing, possibly serpentine idler pulley. If it really is a whistle I'd look for a vacuum leak.
Do you have any feeling on where the sound is loudest, say front or back of the engine ?

i took it to the dealership and they mentioned that I needed an alternator replacement. the alternator was making noise and while it is not dead, it will seize eventually. it is expensive to repair, approximately $1300 CDN. I put it off until next month as I had to replace all my rotors and breaks for a total cost of $1400 all in.
