hey all,
have a 2012 chrysler 300 broke down on me after trying to jump start my durango. Towed it to the closest Chrysler dealership, They said i needed a new computer and a new fuel pump. The computer wasnt sending the relay to turn on the fuel pump and they bypassed the relay and fuel pump still wouldnt turn on. I told them i would do it myself. because they wanted to charge me $1750 for those two things and labor. I ordered the parts from mopar and installed them and the fuel pump still doesnt seem to be turning on. no whining and humming coming from the fuel pump when it tries to turn on . Any suggestions on next moves? why the fuel pump may not be working? fuel pump relay and fuses seem to be fine. Car hasnt been running for 3 weeks. would like to get it up and running, trying to sell it soon. as soon as i put it up for sale this happens. could the jumping or the durango fried some wire to my fuel pump or something?

but you only replaced the fuel pump why?

 

No I replaced both the computer and fuel pump. Still not cranking. The fuel pump doesn't seem to be turning on.

 

so you got a pcm from the dealer ?

 

No I did not. His is the pcm I got. Should I return the pcm and maybe get a new one?

 

so a remain already programmed well either the dealer tech did not know what he was doing or you got a bad pcm. so willing to dig into stuff or over your head? need volt meter or test light and ability to read a wire diagram.

 

I have a volt meter my dad and Grandpa should be able to help with the wiring diagram. I am going to check all fuses and relays to try see if it's an electrical issue. Bad wires or something. Do u know where I could find a wire diagram for the 2012 300?

 

Tell me what you did to cause the issue where it will not start after you jumped the durango cross the wires?

 

i was trying to jump my dodge durango for about 45 minutes with no crank, i couldnt get it to jump i couldnt give it enough juice to jump it.when we tried jumping it the first time the battery sparked on the durango which i assumed shorted the computer out of burnt it up or the fuel pump. but after we couldnt jump it with the 300 and when i got back i nthe 300 to move it to put the 4 runner on there i heard this whinning sound coming from behind me, thought it could be bad but didnt know it would cause this, and tried plugging up my 4runner to the durango still wouldnt crank, took the battery out of the durango to plug up inside on my box starter.(didnt have an extension cord long enough to use it outside) .we were going to go get some groceries in the 300 cranked right up backed out of the drive way was running a little rough while backing up, but when i put into drive and started to press the gas. it was sputtering like it wasnt getting gas. and by that time i coasted about a tenth of a mile up and died and wouldnt crank back up. hope this helped.

 

ok any codes in the computer that you know of? did you check for blown fuses ?
