Default 3rd Break light issue MY2010 SRT8 300C

Hi all
my 3rd light not working and my mechanic said it's around $500 to replace! ugh
This is the one mounted at the top of the boot lid and incorporates the boot release button.

I got all excited when I read a thread on here about potentially fuse 19 may have blown, no such luck, I've checked all of them.
What I did discover yesterday is that as I was parked in front of a glassed building I noticed in my mirror when car was running in park and I pushed the brake pedal my 3rd LED light 'dimly' lit up BUT there was a clicking sound from underneath the gear shift.
This tells me my LED strip is OK
I've owned this car from new and I have NEVER EVER known there to be a clicking noise.

Any ideas what this could be please? I read on some other models it's a brake/park safety solenoid, maybe its on its way out as 100% it's never made this audible rattle/click in its entire life

Give it a little time BUCK. Sometime it takes a few days for the right guy/gal to check in.

Sorry BUCK old boy. Nobody is stepping up. Interest in Chrysler stuff is way down in the last 2 years on the 2 Chrysler Forums I follow. Try another Forum or Utube. Bummer

all good, surprised, usually someone knows something, must be an unusual fault. I've done plenty of Googling but none the wiser
