Default Airbag AND brake issue?

Hello everyone! First time on here. Trying to find some information regarding a problem on a 2016 300C.

Wife states the airbag and stability control warnings came on at the same time. I used my basic scanner and got:
B0090-13 (Left frontal acceleration sensor - Circuit open)
C0042-11 (Brake pedal position sensor - Circuit short to ground)
Not knowing where to begin, I found a little information about the brake pedal position sensor. I was able to get access to it, and it looks like there is just one circuit to it (+5V, signal, and ground). I measured about 1.3V on the signal, and it went up to about 2.7V when i depressed the pedal, so it seems right from what I could find.

How do these sensors relate? Where would be a good place to start trying to find the problem. My skill level is intermediate on repairs, but not great on diagnosis on newer vehicles.

Thanks in advance.

Al
