Amplifier toast. Only sound from dash speakers.
Hey guys, new to this site and curious to know if anyone has experienced this problem. I have a 2010 chrysler 300 limited with the 7 speaker Boston acoustic sound system. Woke up one morning and I have sound coming from the 2 dash speakers and nothing else. Got a wiring diagram and narrowed it down to the amp. Amp has power going to it and the ground circuits have continuity as well as the can bus circuits. Pretty much says the amp is toast. Has anyone else had their amp fail and experienced this problem? Also a replacement from chrysler is pretty pricey and if anyone has installed an aftermarket stereo and still has the factory amp that they would consider selling for a fair price I would appreciate it.

The closest I have ever come to that situation, was with a Dodge Intrepid (6 speakers). One speaker wire had gotten knocked loose and cause all of the speakers on the left side of the car to stop working, until I reconnected that wire to the speaker.
So, that said, check your connections at both ends.

Ya I don't think that's the case because its both door speakers plus the 2 speakers and subwoofer behind the rear headrests. The grounds for the speakers have continuity but no voltage on the positive wire which seems like the amp is internally shorted or has an open causing no output. Thanks for the idea though.

hey were you able to get the amp figured out?. I was able to get an amp, 6 inches of the connectors, as well as 4 of the 6x9 boston acoustic speakers from a wrecked hemi c. I was looking to wire it in but it looks to be too big a task.
