Installing Power Wire Through Firewall

Installing Power Wire Through Firewall
I have a 2002 300M Special, no I'm not rich like you guys, and I was looking for the
best place to provide a power wire from the battery, through the firewall, and into the
trunk so that I might provide power to my portable time machine...and the amp powering
my subs.
The specific problem being getting through the firewall. Can I use an existing grommet?
If I need to punch through where would be the best place? Any help is appreciated.
RELATED COMMENT: LOVE THIS CAR...a bit dissapointed with the sound system.

RE: Installing Power Wire Through Firewall
Best practice would be to use a existing route already there. If you need to drill through the wall go from the inside into the engine area. Be sure nothing is on the other side and install a grommet to keep the wall from eventually cutting into the wire or you could look here for other ideas http://www.the12volt.com/ohm/basics.asp
