Rough idle, hard start

Rough idle, hard start

99 300M has a rough idle at times and sometimes is hard to start or might even die after it is started. Doesn't necessarily happen at any particular time
so its hard to pin down any contributing factors.
Any Ideas on where to start looking?

The battery, mine did this all the time and finally the battery just died. It's a weird problem, but I bet that's it...
