Question Cold start rough idle/heater smell

Hi,
New to the forum. In have 2 issues with my PT
1. Cel- code p050b cold start ignition timing. This happens when it gets below 30f. Dealer doesnt know what to do. Any ideas? Changed plugs, wires and tsb 18-007-07 flash.
2. When the heater is control is turned to max heat there is a distinct smell coming out of the vents. On a/c no smell. Smells like something is burning. Not sure what to do.

Thanks

Now...on to more important matters....

What year is the PT in Question?????

As for the heater smell.......Heat mode takes fresh air from outside and passes it thru the heater core, where it gets distributed to where you want it.

Your AC has two modes.....fresh air, or recirculate....if you have AC in recirculate, you wont smell anything, because the air is coming from inside the car (HENCE THE TERM RECIRCULATE).....Look carefully for oil leaks, or debris on the exhaust, as these odors can be drawn into the heater system and forced into the cabin.
