Default Speaker removal

Hi all, just picked up new2me 2005 300 Limited. Ironing out bugs and found a dead speaker in a 6 speaker radio layout. Shop manual says remove speaker cover, remove 3 screws and lift out speaker. Problem in the speaker cover is either so stubborn that I fear I will damage it or the shop manual is incorrect and the cover is screwed to the dash cover and is not a trim tool removal step. All comments are appreciated.

Are you referring to the speakers in the dash? The covers pop off with a gentle pry exposing the speakers. If you are referring to the speakers in the back, you have to do some disassembly to the rear seat bolsters to remover the back liner exposing the speakers and mounting hardware.

I appologise for my tardy withdrawal of my question. After a bit of poking around I concluded that the dash speakers did in-fact have pop-off covers. The pop-off was very tight111
