why is my car eating 18L/100km?

Default why is my car eating 18L/100km?

so i bought a 99 chrysler 300 m...works like a charm, no car control problems...all the sale ads says that this car should consume 10-11 Liters/100 km inside cities....my car shows 18 on the digital display...on the highway it goes down till 8...i checked the air filter and is ok...anymore thoughts?thanks
the car engine is 2.7 V6

Don't ever go by the digital display on there. Yeah its close indication but all it really is is a mathmatical equation.

Have you tried actually calculating out what you are getting?

To do the milage calculation all it is is the liters you use divided by the distance you travel. l/km.

as for the one the car does. it gets more complicated it uses readings from the 02 senors and everything else just about on the car.
