Why low profile tires suck...
Well, on the 27th, I headed to Fort Myers, which is where I am from and where my heart is. I go 3 times a year to visit my friends, go to parties, races, car shows etc. They is much more happening in Fort Myers, than Tallahassee.
Well, it all went great. Good parties and I saw all of my friends that I wanted to see. Until, the 31st, when I was headed to my friend Kyle's, who was on break from the Marines. We were headed to the big New Years party. I turned into his neighborhood and all of a sudden WHAM!, I hit this big pot hole. Now, I've hit pot holes before and never had a problem, they are some strong rims. So I didn't think anything of it. So, I hop in Chris's truck and off we go. I went to the party, which had 300 people BTW, and had some fun.
The next morning, I headed for my friend Carlos'. He has a car so we didn't use mine. Well on the 4th when I was suppposed to leave, I get in the car and find that I am wobbling like hell. I get out and check and the rim is completely bent inside and out. It is letting out air and would not hold on a 400 mile trip.
I figure, I'm not gonna ride 400 miles back to Tallahassee on a donut, so I buy two steelies and tires from my friend Billy from 10 bucks. That didn't work, because it was the wrong 5 lug. So I spend an extra 2 days looking for a cheap replacement. Finally, I go to my friend Eddie's, who is pretty knowledgable about cars in the area. I find a full size spare (steelie and tire) and have it put on for about 60 bucks.
I drove back up to Tally and now I don't know if I should try to get it fixed, buy another of the same rim, or go for a new set of 16's or 17's...
