2008 Aspen, Clicking Noise Right Rear 1/4 Panel
Hello All:
For a few months now, whenever we start our vehicle, or now even when we open a door or the rear door, there is a loud clicking noise coming from the right rear 1/4 panel of the vehicle. It will last for 30 seconds or so, then stop. It will then come on periodically when driving down the road.
I think it has something to do with the A/C or Heating, but not sure. We are out of warranty, any suggestions or ideas? Thanks

I was finally able to connect with an online chrysler mechanic. He was very helpful and gave me a path to follow but a dealer will need to be involved. My symptoms are exactly as yours. This can be one of a couple things. Since I am able to recreate or stop the clicking by adjusting the rear temp ****, I am going down a path of it being a blend door actuator/motor back there. Here is what he cautioned me on. The rear interior trim back there needs to be removed, this is a bit tricky to avoid damaging it. Once removed, it should be straightforward to see which one of the two actuators is the culprit. It should be the actuator or the door itself that the actuator is trying to move, this is not very likely but possible. After the actuator is replaced, it needs to be calibrated w a scan tool.
Estimation is that the dealer should take about 1.5 hr for the replacement and about a half hour to calibrate it. I am l
Checking w a dealer tomorrow to see if they can do this and if it lines up with this estimate. If they are pretty close, I might as well let them take it apart and use the right tools to get it right. Oh, the part itself is around $36 each.
Hope this helps as it sure is annoying isn't it?
Good luck

Hi guys. I have a fully loaded 2008 aspen 5.7 AWD. I've recently heard a similar random clicking noise coming from somewhere in the back interior. I will mention it to my dealer next time I take it in and will follow up with the results.
