Default 2009 mds

The book says that under the avg. mpg option in the EVIS, that "fuel saver" will display when MDS is active. Mine never changes, can anyone else with an 09 Aspen comment on this?

Maybe you're not looking at it when the conditions are right for MDS to work. Get the vehicle up to somewhere between 40 and 70 and set the cruise control to make sure you're not up and down on the gas. Mine will display the message when I'm cruising at speeds up to around 75 or so, unless I'm going up a hill. The best mileage I've gotten on a trip was around 19.5 when I was at 68-70 mph for 190 miles.

Also, I assume you have the Hemi engine, correct? MDS is only on the Hemi engine.

Correct, Hemi, MDS, my guess is that they removed this feature from the EVIC display for 2009 models and didn't tell anyone or update the owners manual...I took a 200 mile drive a couple weeks ago and had the cruise set at 70 for most of the ride and I never saw the EVIC change to "fuel saver"when I was under the avg mpg option.

Actually, the light wasnt utilized on early run 2009 (built before 12/08). it requires a reflash at the dealership.
