Default Brakes on Certified Aspen

I just found out that my Aspen that I purchased 1 month ago only has 6mm on the Front and 5mm on the back. I am not much of a car guy, so is that bad? From what the break place said it is only about 25% left on Front and 20% left on back. For it being a certified car, from what I read it should have 50% or greater left on them. I cannot believe they would sell the car w/ that amount of brake pad left.

They're typically around 3/8" to 1/2" thick when new, or around 10-12 millimeters. 50% should put you in the range of 5-6 mm, so I'd say you're in good shape.

Experts, feel free to chime in.

^i'm no expert but I agree. maybe the brake place was just trying to get over you by having you purchase some brake pads.
