Exhaust crack

Default Exhaust crack
I just had to get the joint between the catalytic converter and the pipe welded. It had cracked completely.

Has anyone had this issue?

If it were a welded joint I can understand that it may have had an imperfection. If it were a mandrel bent pipe, then some type of metal fatigue/stress was involved.

The joint was welded and I was told it is a defect that also occurs with Ford Mustangs
