Extended warranty on Aspen hybrid?
Hi everyone. I just bought a 2009 aspen hybrid with 100000km (60000miles) and was wondering your thoughts on whether I should go with an extended warranty for an additional $2000? If there are any hybrid owners out there and how their cars have been or even aspen repairs in general.
Thanks for any help.

Well I can't speak on the Hybrid part since mine is not, but my personal experience with extended warranties is not good. I purchased one for my 08 when I picked it up. After taking it in to have several issues looked at (mostly motor related) I found none of the items would be covered under the warranty. I ended up calling the provider and canceling the warranty to get a partial refund. Check carefully what is covered and what is not. I have found that the items they do cover are the items that rarely fail in the first place. You may have different results. However, I personally have never had an extended warranty cover any actual issues I've come across with any of my used vehicle purchases.

If you were to go with an extended warranty, it is highly recommended to choose a manufacturer (Mopar) warranty, and not one from an outside provider. The Mopar Max Care warranties cover every mechanical component in the vehicle, and usually include rental coverage for the duration of the repair.

Aspen Extended Warranty
FYI- I just purchased a 2009 Aspen Hybrid from a used car dealer. It has 95,000 miles. I also purchased a 3 year, 45,000 mile extended warranty for $1,900. The company is A1 AutoProtect and provides nationwide service. I got an online quote for $3,100 from a different company. Hope I won't need it, but wanted the peace of mind given the Hybrid and not having any experience with this model.
