Default Fuel Economy... What to expect

I'm new to the Aspen, and my curious to know what kind of fuel economy to expect from the Hemi 8-4? Another question... Does the computer decide which 4 cylinders to shut down at random, or is it the same 4 cylinders everytime?

Al,
We have 12,000 miles on our Hemi. In town, about 14.4 mpg or so as measured by actual gas used. Highway, running about 80 (5 over) we get about 21.0 if we drop the speed to 65 we get about 23.5 or so.

We use either 87 or 91 octane fuel all the time.

Enjoy!

I'm with jimhild: about 15 in city, up to 23/24 on highway when you're not pushing 75 or 80.

Great, thanks for the replies. My wife was saying how the fuel gauge "just drops", and I had to tell her that she has 450km on the tank already, and that the overhead had another 260 or so. Who knows how the dealer filled it either.
I know the overhead readings aren't what to go by, as my truck has the same, and is usually out a few when done with hand calculations.

I know with some of the Cummins guys that I talk to, there is a wide range of MPG out there. Some get decent to good, some get not so good. I think it has to do with the truck, and the way it's been "brought up".

I wonder if there is a big difference between 18" and 20" rims when it comes to gas mileage

I get the same mpg and this is good if you have 3.92 gears with a tow package and 4wd . The 2wd Aspens can come with 3.55 gears which means lower rpms = better fuel economy .
