Default Fuel Economy... What to expect

I have had my 2007 Aspen V8 5.7 hemi Limited (20 inch tires) for 15 months now. Sorry from Canada so all fuel economy will be in KM. I do get in winter in average of 16.8 km/100km, 18.8 in town and 14.5 on highway. The km is much better in summer time. The very best I have done a few time at 120 km/hours was 12.0 litre/100km which is not bad. I usually do an average of 550 km per tank.

I have 23000 miles on my 2007 hemi 5.7 limited (canadian winter included). I average in summer time 14 m.p.g. and in the city and can drop to to 18 m.p.g.on the highway. A bit diffirent in winter with 13 m.p.g. inthe city and 16 onthe highway. With the price of thegas inCanada these daysI am seriously considering exchanging this beast. The price of gas is around
$ 5.25these days.

Wonder what is wrong with my 07 Aspen, 15k mileage I'm at 5,500 ft in Denver and get less than 11 mpg around town. Anyone else getting similar results. And I drive like an old lady, never step on the gas.

Our Aspen is returning 11mpg in the city, not quite what I was expecting. On the highway it returns around 15-16 mpg, not good either in my opinion. I would like to see what it does with more miles on it tho. We had a Honda Odyssey which was also horrible on gas as well, until it broke in, then the milage came quite nicely. I might add, both of these is/wascity driven, which will also delaya break-in period. When we bought our Odyssey, my friend bought his Odyssey about a week before me, he bought it in time to take it on holidays, it basically went off the lot and had 7000km put on it. He had awesome fuel milage, mine suffered for quite awhile.

Our 2007 Hemi gets about 14-15 in town and 21-22 on the highway.
We love it,

So my father picked up a 08 Aspen Hemi 4x4 with the tow package in Jan, Has anyone towed with their hemi? I was gonna use it to tow my s10 from new jersey to indiana(its a show truck) in august and was wondering what the gas milage was like while towing

New to the forums. Thought I'd post mpg figures. My wife is the primary driver of our Aspen which means it sees mostly city driving. And by dity driving I mean; out of the driveway, drive 3/4 mile stop. Turn and rive for 800 ft, slow turn right, drive 1000 ft, stop turn right, idle in school dropoff line, pull out, tun right, drive 500 ft, stop turn right drive a mile, stop, turn right, drive 1/2 mile......etc. I think the longest strech in her drive to work is a mile and she has probably 18 moments of either coming to a complete stop or slowing for turns. With that she averages about 10.5 to a rare 12.5. On the highway though its a different story. I have gotten the overhead as high as 21.5 while she has hit 22.5. I just hand calc'ed the last tank and it was 12.5. We are taking a little road trip at the end of June. We'll see what it can due with 5 people (6 on the way back) and gear.

Ok, did a hand calculated milage today. 13.58 mpg... Canadian gallon. OR 12.17 mpg... US gallon. Not good, but definitely better than the 10.87 mpg... (Canadian gallon) that I have been getting. I might add this is all City driving. Stop and go, stop and go. Lady driven as well.... I always give my wife a hard time that we bought a Hemi to be driven as a 4cylinder. But then I get in it, and it gets to spread it's wings. All in good fun tho!

Quick Question? How accurate is the overhead consule reading on the average MPG's. I have always thought they were not that accurate. What is the best way to get a real avg??? I noticed yesterday that it was only averaging 8.7mpg. OUCH!!!!!! Please tell me this is not possible....
