Key Fobs

Key Fobs
I have an '08 Aspen Limited. Both key fobs were working perfectly fine one day. My wife managed to run over one of them and, although it didn't appear to be damaged, no longer functions. To my surprise though, the 2nd key fob also no longer works. Not sure if this caused something to happen which would require them to be reprogrammed? Maybe it somehow killed the battery that is in the receiver in the vehicle? Unfortunately, according to the manual, you need one working key to program additional keys.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
Brian

The "receiver" in the vehicle is powered by the car battery so I'm sure that's not the problem. The 2nd key fob now failing after the first one was damaged is odd. The only reason I could even remotely see the damaged key fob causing issues with the 2nd is if the damaged one is still trying to transmit as if it were stuck. Have you opened up the damaged key fob? Tried removing the battery in it? Have you replaced the battery in the 2nd remote? I'd go there first. While in there, try looking for any possible cracks on the board or solder joints. May be possible to fix if it's simple. Otherwise it's toast. Sadly, if you can't get the undamaged key fob to work, you will need to seek dealer assistance. As you have already noted, one working unit is needed to add additional ones.
