Hello. I was wondering if anyone here has had an issue with the lift gate not latching? It opens and closes perfectly but does not latch. Any ideas are welcome and appreciated.

This comes up occasionally, but it's usually people that can't get it to UNlatch, rather than your issue.

Part number without power liftgate = 4589064AB
Part number with power liftgate = 4589580AA

Before you replace parts, press and hold the exterior handle on the tailgate for at least 20 seconds and see if that helps.

Also, are you hearing the actuator when you press that handle? If so, I wonder if the lock rod has somehow worked its way free of the latch.

Mine with 141K worked perfectly until last week. Suddenly it would not open. I tried every fix to open it I could find. Took it to a shop that could not open it manually either but said his scan tool opened it. He cleaned and lubed it at no charge. Made my day! It has worked flawlessly since.
