New tires and shocks
After much deliberation I pulled the plug and installed Yokohama Parada Spec-X tires (265/50/20) and F/R Michelin Reflex shocks on my 08 Limited with 60k miles. The Relfex give a terrific ride (not too firm but definitely less "bouncy" than stock). The tires are very very quiet (as per ratings on the various tire websites) and are like road magnets both in wet and dry conditions. Running at 40 psi per tire installer recommendation. Aspen handles like a "heavy sportscar" - very responsive. Not sure how much life I'll get out of the Yoko's -hoping for at least 30k miles that would bring me to 90K on the Aspen (time for a trade-in by then). Price was right - almost 1/2 compared to the Bridgestone Alenza's (they would last longer for sure). So I'll see how it goes and I'll update as time/mileage progresses.
The installer of my new tires also recommended 40 psi, as the tires are XL and have a higher load rating, and therefore can handle higher pressure. However, if you're just driving normally and not carrying 7 people and their luggage, you should use the stock tire pressure recommendations for tires the same size as stock.
With 40 psi and only you in the car, I'm surprised the ride isn't rough.
