Default New Shocks

I've got 63k miles on my 04 fwd Pacifica and interesting in replacing the old shocks. I'd like to upgrade with some stiffer gas shocks.

Any recommendations or warnings?

My 04 AWD has 60K on it and I use my PAC to tow my Miata Track Car on a dolly. I'm also looking for suggestions for replacement shocks. Preferably stiffer than the stock shocks.

KYB makes a self leveling shock to replace the factory shocks, but at over $300 each(OUCH!!), it could get expensive.

That being said, the factory replacement shocks that I am seeing run around $250 each.

I wonder what makes them so dang expensive. I can get 4 shocks for my 3/4 diesel for less than one shock for the wife's Pac.

My 04 AWD 60K on it and I can use my PDA for my Miata track car towing a car. I am also looking for suggestions for replacement shock. Preferably more rigid than the stock market crisis.
