Default Park Assit Failure

I took my Aspen to the dealership because I keep getting a message in the evic when I start the vehicle "Service park assist system". They told me that 3 of the 4 modules had all gone bad. Suprised me that three went bad at the same time? Also they told me that it would cost me something like $260 bucks or around there to fix. No problem but when the thing did work it was so slow that I would have hit something before it would have warned me. Also I tow quite often in the sumer and therefor never use this option. Anyways is there any way to get the message from continuing to come up? The dealer says no, does anyone know different? Also these parts are easily removed if I replaced them myself would the problem cure itself or does the computer need to be reset also?

There are 4 distance sensors on your back bumper that work with the system, but only one control module that I know of. The control module is located behind the power liftgate module above the left rear wheel housing.

Did you ever back into anything? I can't imagine how 3 of the 4 sensors would just go bad.

You have to remove the rear bumper cover to remove/replace the sensors. I'm not sure about clearing the code without repairing the problem.
