Transmission Slipping

Transmission Slipping
Have an 08 4x2 with the 4.7 and about 53000 miles. Recently began experiencing slipping when down shiffting only. Most noticeable when rolling a stop sign and accelerating causing the tranny to down shift form 2nd to 1st. Makes kind of a groaning noise as well. Shifts fine if you really gas it but trying to be easy on the fuel as the 4.7 is bad enough already. Checked the fluid level and all is fine. Full with no smell or discoloration.
Also have issue around 50mph with transmission - feels rough almost like running on the rumble strips on the side of the road. Smooths out around 55 or if let off the gas. I had an 04 Ram 1500 with similar issue so I thought it may be nature of the beast but now I'm rethinking.
Anyone else with these issues?

I have an 07 4x2 hemi with overr 100k miles and it's just started making the same noise/feel that you describe around 50 mph. At first we did think we ran over bumps in the road but it's pretty consistently doing it between 40-50 mph. We have a mechanic friend that was able to check for computer trouble codes and nothing came up. He suggested it might be a coil problem. Another mechanic friend that is actually a Dodge tech said it sounded like the transmission was being faulty around the time it tries to cut down from driving on 8 cylinders to 4 cylinders.
Did you ever find out what was causing your issue?
