'04 Pacifica ran Rough for a few minutes

'04 Pacifica ran Rough for a few minutes
Started to smell very bad, then ran very rough with check engine light flashing. Got it off the highway and it smoothed out and is running fine now.
Getting the following codes:
P0404 (which has been on for a while). I put in a new EGR valve a while back and it still came on.
P0304 This is a new code since this running problem happened yesterday.
The way it was running reminds me of my old, 1996 Dodge pick up when the fuel pump went bad.
Ideas?
