Default 06 Pacifica - smell from a/c and defroster

Over the summer, my a/c would intermittently work (fortunately it worked more than it didn't). Sometimes it would blow warm air for a few minutes then start blowing cold air.

Now I've noticed a strong smell coming from the defroster or a/c when I have it on. It's a sweet chemical type smell. It makes me sick to my stomach and I have to turn it off.

I haven't called the dealer yet, but I am just wondering if anyone else has had an issue like this and can give some insight. Thanks!

Hi,

As you have engine coolant flowing through the heater core, and air flowing through the heater core into the cabin, I wonder about a leak in the heater core. Any visible leaks outside, or onto the front passenger carpet area?
