08 Pacifica - Fail to start when warm
Have an 08 Pacifica less than 5K miles.
When warm, sometimes when you attempt to start it, it will fire briefly then die. A second or third attempt may result in the same thing. When it does start, it will stumble and be sluggish for a couple seconds, then run fine.
On another note - most times in the AM when the vehicle has sat overnight, there will be the smell of coolant outside the vehicle after it has been started. There is no evidence of leakage on the garage floor.
Going in for service tomorrow - thought I might gets some ideas ahead of time.
Thanks
michael

Starting(fuel pump) problem?
I am not a mechanic so ... Did you just crank it up or did you turn the ignition to on and allow the fuel pump to "engage" for lack of a better word.
I've been told(after having fuel pump problems with my Jeep) to don't "just get in and crank it up" turn your key to the on position and you'll hear the pump make a sound then start your car.
Now my wife is driving a '08 Pacifica & I try to tell her to wait for the fuel pump to come on ,then start it.
I'd like to hear from a mechanic or anyone that knows about this persons problem of starting in warm weather if what I posted makes any sense at all. THANKS

I had this problem three months after the purchased of my new 06. The dealer could not replicate the problem and so nothing was done. Three years later (last week) it occurred again. I parked it and next day no problem and so again I am driving it with no more understanding of the problem than when it was new. No codes were displayed either time. Mileage now at 48k

I have had the same issue with my 07 4.0L I had it towed to the dealer one afternoon because it would not start, I tried it numerous times in a ten minute period. I had the dealer install a chrysler remote starter, I have been blaming the remote start and the anti theft system. Do the others with issues have this set up as well.
